Our School’s Namesake

James Abram Garfield's influence on Garfield High School in Seattle is more symbolic than direct, as the school was named in his honor to reflect the values he represented. Garfield High School, established in 1920, chose its namesake to embody the ideals of hard work, perseverance, and dedication to public service that President Garfield's life exemplified.
