Art exhibit to end September 8
by Aaron Vederoff ’61
The Seattle Black Renaissance Artist exhibit, which opened on July 10, is a celebration of Black excellence in art, featuring the works of six talented artists who use various media and techniques to express their vision. Chardé Brown, Myron Curry, Yolanda Galery, Vincent Keele, Rodney King, and T. R. Miles showcase their creativity and skill in painting, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, glass, ceramics, and jewelry.
I visited the exhibit with my grandson and we both loved it. Here are some photos of the amazing artworks we saw. If you are interested in seeing them in person, you can visit the Columbia City Gallery at the Rainier Arts Center, located at 4864 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118. The exhibit is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 am to 6 pm until September 8. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
Columbia City Gallery is a cooperative that supports emerging and professional artists in the historic district of Columbia City. It is also a place for education, community, and art appreciation. I invited a friend who is an artist to join me for another visit. Maybe you would like to go too?
